The Selection (The Selection #1) by Kiera Cass

*I have purchased this book so was not required to post a review*

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

MY THOUGHTS

This book was described to me as The Bachelor and The Hunger Games... It isn't really like The Hunger Games other than it being Dystopian.

Anyway, I read this last week and finished it on Saturday. I would have finished it quicker but I had a lot to do so  didn't have time to read it as much as I wanted.  I really liked it and I thought it was well written. At the end I wanted to start reading the next book in this trilogy and I am glad I have it because I don't want to wait to read it .

I highly recommend The Selection by Kiera Cass.

I give this 5 out of 5

You can purchase this book online  or at a book store near you.
