Will the doctor stop mark or will the angels feast? MY REVIEW I love Doctor Who so I was very excited to read this book on my Kindle.  I have only read one other Doctor Who book but that has been years ago. In Plain Sight (Stolen Hearts #3) By Kate Kelly

Image
*I was given a free copy of this ebook for my honest review* Rafe Pascotto reluctantly agrees to help his brother-in-law, FBI Special Agent Vince Gage, by keeping tabs on a suspected international jewel thief. Reluctant, that is, until he meets beautiful Bridget O’Neill.  Within minutes, Bridget recognizes Rafe for the rube he is, hooks him and publically hangs him out to dry. Unbelievable the man has come back for more because he thinks she needs protection. She’d enjoy the joke if she wasn’t so busy running from a past that’s about to catch up to her.  MY REVIEW This is book three in the Stolen Hearts series by Kate Kelly.  I have read the first 2 books twice already and now read this new one once but I know I will read it again in the  future. As you may have notice I do not read romance with suspense but I used to read this kind of books a lot in the past and yes I do like this kind of books but I am usually very picky. Anyways I love this ...

By chance he discovers a magical orb which legend states has the power to grant him anything he so desires. But there's a catch. He has to earn the wish by helping five people, and he doesn't know who or when this might be.   Before he has a chance to explore this amazing opportunity, he meets with the true owner of the orb - an ancient warrior powerful beyond belief - whose appearance proves that the legend is true. However, if Jamie wants to see his wish granted, he will have only thirty days to fulfil the prophecy.   And if he fails? He forfeits his soul.. Abut the author:   D. S. Affleck was born in 1972 in Southend-On-Sea. The son of a clergyman, he moved to Dorset where his parents ran the Pilsdon community. Instead of becomi...

Follies Past: a Prequel to Pride and Prejudice by Melanie Kerr Review

Image
*I was given a free copy of this book for my honest review* "I must now mention a circumstance which I would wish to forget myself, and which no obligation less than the present should induce me to unfold to any human being..." So begins Mr. Darcy to lay before Elizabeth his faithful narrative of Mr. Wickham's villainy toward his sister, Georgiana. The facts he sets out are brief but potent. They contain a story unto themselves, and that story is the subject of this book. Taking its facts from Austen’s own words, Follies Past opens almost a year before the opening of Pride and Prejudice itself, at Pemberley, at Christmas. Fourteen-year-old Georgiana has just been taken from school and is preparing to transfer to London in the spring. It follows Georgiana to London, to Ramsgate and into the arms of the charming and infamous Mr. Wickham.  To read this book is to step back into the charming world of Jane Austen’s England, to pass a few more hours with some ...

Queen Elizabeth's Daughter: A Novel of Elizabeth I by Anne Clinard Barnhill

Image
*I was given a free copy of this eBook for my honest review* Mistress Mary Shelton is Queen Elizabeth’s favorite ward, enjoying every privilege the position affords. The queen loves Mary like a daughter, and, like any good mother, she wants her to make a powerful match. The most likely prospect: Edward de Vere, Earl of Oxford. But while Oxford seems to be everything the queen admires: clever, polished and wealthy, Mary knows him to be lecherous, cruel, and full of treachery. No matter how hard the queen tries to push her into his arms, Mary refuses. Instead, Mary falls in love with a man who is completely unsuitable. Sir John Skydemore is a minor knight with little money, a widower with five children. Worst of all, he’s a Catholic at a time when Catholic plots against Elizabeth are rampant. The queen forbids Mary to wed the man she loves. When the young woman, who is the queen’s own flesh and blood, defies her, the couple finds their very lives in danger as Elizabeth’s wrath kn...

Dangerous Dream (Dangerous Creatures 0.5) by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl Ebook Review

Image
* I was given a free ecopy of this book for my honest review* The series follows fan favorite characters (and on-again-off-again couple) Link and Ridley as they embark on fresh (and sure to be epic!) adventures. The series kicks off with the enovella "Dangerous Dream," available for download on December 17, followed by the release of the first book, "Dangerous Creatures," on May 6, 2014. MY REVIEW I admit that I have never read any of the books in the Beautiful Creatures series. I have wanted to but I really wasn't sure if I should buy it or not so I was happy to review this novella.  I liked this novella. It is well written and now I do want to read the series and I think once my book buying ban is over I might buy the series. This novella is short but it catches the reader up with each of the characters (mostly of Ridly) and I think if you are already a fan of Beautiful Creatures you will love this novella and the new spin-off book series called ...
