Midnight Ride (Midnight Cowboys #1) by Cat Johnson *Review

Image
*I was given a eARC of this for my honest review* One bucking bronco… Oklahoma ranch hand Tyler Jenkins is too young, too sexy, and too damn wild to be tied down by any single woman—for more than a few steamy hours… One hard-working widow… Widowed rancher Janie Smithwick is too busy paying off her debts to play rodeo with a reckless young cowboy like Tyler—no matter how hot he gets her… One midnight ride they’ll never forget… As a rule, Janie should be dating a man her own age, like her handsome neighbor Rohn—not the twenty-four-year old ranch hand he employs. But once Tyler gets Janie alone—held tight in his arms, pressed against his hard muscled body, burning with desire—the widow realizes that some rules, like broncos, are meant to be broken… MY THOUGHTS I really enjoyed this book but one thing I just couldn't stand is some of the male characters saying A'ight. I don't know why but that just kinda turns me off from a book a bit. Other than that it is

One touch and twenty-eight year old Liz Del Rio wasn’t sure she’d be able to walk away. Tides of Honour by Genevieve Graham #Review

*I received an ARC copy of this book for my honest review* It’s 1916, and the last thing Nova Scotian soldier Danny Baker expects to find in war-torn France is the love of his life. Audrey Poulin is alone in the world, and struggling to survive the war in the French countryside. When Audrey and Danny meet and fall in love, it seems like the best version of fate. But love is only the beginning, as Danny loses a leg in the Battle of the Somme, and returns home to Halifax with Audrey, only to discover that he’s unable to leave the war behind. Danny and Audrey struggle with their new life together, and must face not only their own internal demons, but a catastrophe that will soon rip apart everything they think they know about themselves and each other. MY THOUGHTS I know this isn't the kind of book I usually read. I do sometimes read historical fiction but it is very rare and I don't usually read books that take place in World War 1 but this one sounded interestin
