My Plans For 2024

For the past few years I have set goals and I admit that I didn’t really stick to said goals.   Why? Well because I tend to push myself so hard to hurry up and read everything right away or read things I just don’t feel like reading .   This year I have felt burned out and forced myself to read then I just couldn’t enjoy what I was reading.   2024 will be different . I am behind on book reviews so I will be prioritizing those so some of the books I will be reviewing  on Canadian Book Addict might not be new releases or upcoming releases. On January 1st I am cleaning out my GoodReads because it’s a little chaotic.  I have so many books in my Want To Read tag  that I do not even want to even read anymore . I want to keep it more.  Of course, I do also plan on reading what I already own. Will I read many of them? I don’t know but I will not stress about it.  I just want to enjoy reading and not stress about it .  If I feel I don’t ...

How Many Books I Own/ How Many Books I Have Not Read

Image
Just for fun, I decided to count how many books I own so I counted all the books in my library, the graphic novels were counted as well but I did not count my nonfiction and cookbooks and I did not count the books I had set aside to get rid of.   My total is ……. 330. 😱 .   How many of those I haven’t read yet?   Well, I have counted them and there are 130 books I have not read. I have owned some of the ones I have not read for about 10 years but I plan to read them. Here are photos of my bookcases in my library.  I am not sharing my nonfiction/cookbooks and graphic novels here.  I might share those some other time if it's something you all want to see. Just comment down bellow if you would love to see those.

Where It Begins by Helena Hunting

Image
Single dad, hockey coach, and the last guy this single mom should fall for. Where It Begins, an all-new swoon-filled Pucked novella from New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting, is available now! From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Helena Hunting comes a new story in her Pucked series. The untold story of Skye and Sidney, and the origin story where Vi and Miller are teens when their parents start dating and fall in love… I accidentally grabbed the wrong drink at the coffee shop. On the upside, the hot guy it belonged to chased me down to kindly swap with me. On the down side, the reason I grabbed the wrong drink in the first place is because the hot guy had just caught me checking out his ass…sets. In my defense, his rear view is rather magnificent. In true, humiliating form, I word-vomited a bunch of horrible nonsense. Including an unnecessary explanation of the trauma I’d evaded thanks to his chasing me down. Nothing c...

Caution To The Wind by Giana Garling (Review)

Image
*I received a eARC of this book for my honest review*   From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Giana Darling comes an age gap, forbidden love story about a rebel soul and her best friend's dad who wants absolutely nothing to do with her... I fell in love with my best friend's dad when I was seventeen. He seemed like some kind of heathen god, big enough to kill a man with his bare hands, tattooed with bright, bold images, and weathered by time and a short stint in prison. Blind to the consequences, I made a mistake that ran him out of town and ruined his life. Now, he's back after all these years––hating me more than the day he left. What he doesn't know is that I've been working to atone for my sins. I've infiltrated the Vancouver Triad that killed his wife. Always my protector, he decides it's not safe for me to be in this alone, so he resolves to get me out of the Triad and out of his hair for good. *A stand-alone novel in The Fallen Men Series.* MY T...

What KU Books I Have On My Kindle

Image
I have had KU (Kindle Unlimited on and off this year and I thought I would do a post of what I have recently downloaded on my Kindle. It’s not much since I just got KU again last week and I know I will not be able to do much reading this month because I do have lots to do to get ready for Christmas.   First up   is what I am currently reading:   Bound by Honor (Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles Book 1) by Cora Reilly. Born into one of the leading Mob families in Chicago, Aria Scuderi struggles to find her own path in a world where no choices are given. Aria was only fifteen when her parents betrothed her to Luca – The Vice – Vitiello, the oldest son of the head of the New York Cosa Nostra to ensure peace between the two families. Now with eighteen, the day Aria has been dreading for years is looming dangerously: her wedding to Luca. Aria is terrified of marrying a man she hardly knows, especially someone like Luca who got his nickname ‘the Vice’ for crushing a man’s throat w...

It's December Already?

I can't believe it is December already. Years seem to be going faster and faster.   I will be doing a few different posts this month.  I will not have many release blitzes this month but I do have a few other special posts coming up.  I have some plans but I just need to write them. The posts are more like the year in review, what's on my KU, TBR pile of shame and similar posts.  I might do my 2024 goals post too but that will most likely be going up at the end of the month. I can't wait to start posting all these posts that I have planned. I should have one of the mentioned posts at some point this weekend.
