2018 Goal Update

Every year for the past few years I have been making reading goals for myself and I have been posting them on my blog for the past couple of years now.  I find I like to see which ones I have actually done and which I haven't done.

Here is what my goals were for this year.

Every year I write down my reading goals for the year and this year my goals will be a little different.

This year I would love to take part in more read-a-thons and take part in a few read-alongs.  So far I am already signed up for Bout of Book 21 and 2018 Stephen King read-along. I might not take part in the Stephen King read-along every month but I had been wanting to read more Stephen King books so I will try to take part in at least 2 of them.

I want to try and finish reading the Harry Potter series.  I have read books 1 to 3 last year and I did buy book 4 last year as well but I just haven't had the time to continue on in the series.

This year I am going to make my Goodreads goal low and just use it to keep track of the books I have read during the year and not really worry about the number of books I will be reading.

And like every year I will try to read more of my own to be read pile.  I did read quite a bit of them last year but I do need to make my to be read pile smaller.

Also, I have a few books that I have no finished last year.  They aren't books to review but books I have bought and started reading and then put aside because I needed to read books to review.

Ok, let's see:

I did start with Bout of Books... I mean I did the first 2 days but then I just completely forgot I was doing it or something.

I did read 2 of the books that everyone was reading for the 2018 Stephen King read-along but I got so busy with books to read and review that I had decided to quit that.

I did not finish reading the Harry Potter series.  I did read book 4 this month and I still do not have books 5 and 6.  I have book 7 which I got the year it came out.

I did keep my Goodreads goal low. I had set it to 50 books and so far this year I have read 202 books but as I am writing this I am currently reading 2 books and listening to 1 audiobook.

I did finish one of the books I had not finished last year.

Not the best year when it came to my goals but I did read a lot.  Oh and I read 29 of my own TBR pile so that is good.  I think that this is the first year since I started this blog that I have read so many of my own TBR pile that isn't for review.  I am proud of myself for that.

Before January I will be back with my 2019 reading goals.   I don't know what they will be yet but stay tuned.

Did you make goals?
