Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff #Review

*I purchased this book with my own money.*

Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the worst thing she'd ever been through. That was before her planet was invaded. Now, with enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra are forced to fight their way onto one of the evacuating craft, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit.
But the warship could be the least of their problems. A deadly plague has broken out and is mutating, with terrifying results; the fleet's AI, which should be protecting them, may actually be their biggest threat; and nobody in charge will say what's really going on. As Kady plunges into a web of data hacking to get to the truth, it's clear only one person can help her bring it all to light: Ezra.
Told through a fascinating dossier of hacked documents--including emails, schematics, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more--Illuminae is the first book in a heart-stopping, high-octane trilogy about lives interrupted, the price of truth, and the courage of everyday heroes

MY THOUGHTS

Ok first off I am going to say this.  I do not usually read science fiction. I do love science fiction movies and tv shows but I don't even think I have ever read science fiction before this book.

This book has been all over the online book community and a few people have been recommending this book to me on numerous occasions that I  decided to buy it on BookOutlet and read the book as soon as it arrived at my door.

I am so happy that I have read this one because I absolutely loved it.  I wasn't sure I would because of the way it is written (dossiers, emails, IMs, military files and so on) but boy did I ever love this book.   I love the story and I am so glad I bought the physical book because I know I will be reading this one again in the future.  This book is original in my opinion.

I hope to get the chance to buy and read the next book very soon.

I give this 5 out of 5 stars.
